NorthStar Has Arrived

We’re really excited to be able to formally open NorthStar today.
It’s taken almost 2 years of research, planning, preparation and testing to get here, but here we are.
We’re really delighted to be able to offer a fresh take on financial planning and think we have re-imagined the profession for the digital age. What does that mean I may hear you ask. Well it’s not empty rhetoric.
When we came up with the idea for NorthStar, we knew that we wanted to help people understand their money better, make better financial decisions and ultimately to be able to help them achieve their life’s goals.
We decided to go right back to basics and map out exactly what the ultimate financial planning firm would look like.
We believe that many people have never considered using a financial planner before and many others have become disillusioned by their current adviser. We also know that many people are put off seeking advice because of the high minimum investment levels and the perception of high pressure sales tactics.
With NorthStar, we want to change all of that.
We also know that many firms in our profession are yet to embrace the latest technology. We believe technology is driving change in financial planning already and want to be at the vanguard of this transformation. Not only will this allow us to provide new and innovative services to our clients but also to reduce our costs and therefore make high quality financial planning and wealth management affordable to many more people.
We’ve searched through hundreds of technology companies to partner with the some of the most creative and inventive firms to provide our clients with cutting-edge services like our client portal, electronic billing, paperless financial document management, ImpulseSave® and much more.
Not only do more people need access to financial advice, we think people need access to the very best advice. To us this means two things. Firstly ‘independence’. We only offer fully independent advice and are never tied to particular product providers. We always recommend the best products for the job, no matter what they are. Secondly it means ‘chartered status’. We only use Chartered Financial Planners. This qualification is only awarded to the very best advisers who have reached the pinnacle of their profession. We don’t believe in settling for anything less.
Before our formal launch, we’ve been busy testing and refining our services further and are pleased to say we’ve had a great reception. However, we’re not the kind of company to rest on our laurels and we’ll be developing new and innovative services over the coming years to complements our existing services.
We’re also determined to put our clients at the centre of everything we do. That means great client communication, regular feedback and dialogue to improve what we do further. If you’re an existing NorthStar client and want to talk to us about what we do and how we do it, we would genuinely love to hear what you think.
Another tenet of our business philosophy is to not be prescriptive in terms of the service we offer. No two individuals are identical and nor are their needs. We have created a modular service proposition which means every NorthStar client can get just the right services for them. Whether that’s managing investments, receiving advice on an insurance policy or a long-term relationship with us to provide financial planning, we really think we have something for everyone.
We know that many people find the world of finance and the options available to them confusing and full or jargon. With this in mind, we’re always keen to share what we know and want to be involved in sparking discussion and providing insight where we can. We plan to write plenty of blog articles and be active on social media so keep an eye out and follow us to make sure you stay up-to-date.
We hope you can join us on what we think will be an incredible and exciting journey.
